Thanks for your submission, firefox3.

Unfortunately, your design does not fulfill any of our requirements (did you read these?)

a) lettering absolutely wrong for the following reasons:
> emphasis is on the city "München" (big); "Ruhestörung" is too small to be recognizable;
> font style too fancy and not easily legible (the band's name is important!)
b) no recognizable relation to music, music genre or to the band
c) colors are ok, but nothing special
d) swoosh is expressionless, too abstract to have any clear meaning a specific trade (could be used for sports, shoes, travel services, tanning studio, etc.)
e) overall form of logo is too generic, not recognizable or unique with other logos
f) looks bland in grayscale

Better, but still not what we are looking for. Thank you for your effort.

Firefox 3: Instead of posting a message asking for feedback (like the rest of the other army of "designers" do), why don't you just wait patiently for feedback if it's warranted because now every knows what the customer thinks of your logos.

As a designer following your instructions, sometimes it is not easy to understand
exactly what it is you are looking for. Instead of a 1 star rating
(which damages our overall rankings)
we would prefer you just eliminate the design as opposed to a 1-star rating.
Or, give it no rating and supply feedback so we can re-design this for you.

DesignCrowd reminds its customers to provide feedback AND TO RATE all submissions using the STARS! If your account is being down-rated, I apologize for that, but you should take this issue up with DesignCrowd and not with individual customers who are using the tools DesignCrowd provides. In fact, on the customer side, DesignCrowd recommends the following:
"Give a star rating of at least 70% of the designs received."
Assigning ratings also helps the customer to manage the overview of submitted design.
If you are worried about poor ratings, you should consider reading and understanding the requirements thoroughly before making submission. If you have any questions before submitting, you can ask them in this public chat.

I have asked DesignCrowd to explain this star-rating policy and will provide an update for you when I receive feedback.
To a certain extent I agree that designers should not be penalized for submitting designs that a customer does not like. That is a matter of taste. On the other hand, customers do not want to be bombarded with lots of amateur, mediocre designs from designers who don't understand the project description.
It is a difficult balance, but if I continue to receive designs which clearly contain elements opposite to the project specifications, I will give you a low star rating. You need to do better; consider it part of your training as a designer. You have to be tough in this business.

ALH: You wrote "As a designer following your instructions, sometimes it is not easy to understand exactly what it is you are looking for."

In the briefing it clearly states 'Should Not Have: We do not want the word "München" larger than the word "Ruhestörung".This emphasizes absolutely the wrong word!'

From this clear statement you should be able to understand what we DO NOT want, but you keep submitting designs with "München" big and "Ruhestörung" small.
Sorry, but I will down-rate you for this!

Dear Designers,
In the briefing it clearly states 'Should Not Have: We do not want the word "München" larger than the word "Ruhestörung".This emphasizes absolutely the wrong word!'

To be clear:
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANY MORE DESIGNS WITH "München" IN LARGER FONT SIZE THAN "Ruhestörung"

If you do, you will risk receiving one star or two stars only.
