Herbie's Sports Collectibles logo design contest

This is what Herbie's Sports Collectibles was looking for in their logo design

I am starting a sports cards and memorabilia shop. We will be selling stuff primarily on ebay early on, then will be opening a brick and mortar shop in the fall. I currently have another business called the Hungry Hippie, and we will be doing the logo for Herbie's Sports Collectibles as a spin off of the other brand. I have had a couple people work on this already, but wasn't fully satisfied with the results so I wanted to go on here and get the job done right. I've attached the current logo of the Hungry Hippie, as well as the unfinished attempt at a logo for Herbie's Sports Collectables. These can be used as reference for the new logo. The character from the Hungry Hippie logo is called Herbie, so the card shop brand will use the same character for the main part of the logo. I'd like to keep the vibe of the Hungry Hippie, but make something that has more of a vintage/retro 60's/70's sports feel to it.
