Logo Design Brief

I need help with a logo for a new pet shop please. The primary market are (potential) owners of reptiles, amphibians, and fish. Plants are also an important aspect. I feel the color green is important to incorporate but I would like other colors in there as well. I would like a family friendly and inviting logo that is interest grabbing but also clearly portrays my market aim. An animated look is fine but I'm not a huge fan of overbearing caricature or a hand drawn look (as the final product). I would like something that is relatively easy to put on stationary, cards, etc. as well. I've attached a couple of pictures of a few of the animals I will deal with as reference, that is by no means exhaustive.
