Logo Design Brief

**Update** I seem to be getting alot of aggressive/masculine logo designs - I want to clarify that I am a female and this is a female-owned and operated business so softer/feminine logos are preferred. Please stay away from Red/Black fonts and aggressive designs. Thank you!!

Hello!

I'm starting a small home-based travel agency - BIG KAHUNA VACATIONS.

For the logo - I want a polynesian theme that includes palm trees, the water, sun and perhaps a cruise ship in the background. Very important, the name/text needs to be incorporated with the image/design. I don't want an image that can be separated from the text.

I want to include a cruise ship because approx 80% of my target audience will be cruise vacationers.

I've added a few files for you to review for my inspiration for directions you can go in. Please see files 3,4 and 5. Obviously we don't want to duplicate their logo but I want to show you what I like about each.

File 1 are images of friendly/fun tiki guys that I have on my desk and I love. Some tiki I was getting was quite aggressive, or birdlike or non-tiki like at all so I added this for clarification.

File 2 - i came across this on a google image search and loved the idea. I thought it was creative to have the palm tree, water, etc incorporated within the shape of another object. Perhaps someone can offer a design incorporated in a Tiki or surfboard silhouette!?

File 3 - I LOVE the simplicity of this Universal design. I like how the text has a slight Polynesian feel and a very simple mountain/water design above. I'd like to see what can be done with Big Kahuna Vacations in a similar text type with a similar Mountain or Palm and/or sun combo that would be incorporated with the text. I do not want the image and text to be able to be cropped out so others can use my logo for their event.

and lastly

File 4 - this I think would be the BEST design to start off with as your base. I like that the text and image are incorporated within. I like the water, I like the rays, I like the trees/Polynesian feel. I just need a cruiseship added, text changed and other slight changes made so that we don't do a "copycat" and we're done!

File 5 - My sketch logo idea. Its the text incorporated in a mountain, with a waterfall, palm trees, and a basic cruiseship on the water. Simple, to the point and gives polynesian vacation vibe!

Requirements

Must have

• Must have the text incorporated into the logo. I'm seeing a lot designs with clip art type cruise ships with basic text below. Not acceptable.
• I want to ensure that this logo will become unique to Big Kahuna Vacations and that others wont be able to remove the text and use the logo for their projects/events/companies.

Nice to have

• I love Polynesian/Hawaiian art vibes. I would like color but also want the logo to look good in black/white.

Should not have

• Aggressive tiki - surf boards/surfing - red text - intricate details as they won't appear clear when the logo is shrunk down for different purposes.
• Please DO NOT make the text BIG for the word Big. Please keep the font/shape consistent for all the text: Big Kahuna Vacations
