I think you're absolutely right on about avoiding the point blank obvious when it comes to common stereotypical dental images. What might work best for you and save you money in the long run is to go with something simple yet elegant. The world is full of many busy things, so what I'd like to do for you is to make a logo that is easy to remember, find easily and feel elegant all at the same time. What kind of color palettes would you like to see? The name of your business has the word 'Alamo' in it and I'm wondering if your decor will be based off of a western theme? I'd like to learn more about you, do you have a website up or anything? I'd like the logo I design for you to really cater to you as far as the demographic in your region. What country are you in or state/city? This would help me narrow down what would work out best for your area.

What might work best for you and look more professional is a logotype.. where your name becomes the logo that people remember instead of just a picture of a tooth or what not. Many successful companies do this and it works out quite well for them.

We are located in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The Alamo is a very famous Spanish Mission and historical site. There are many uses of the Alamo imagery (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alamo_Mission_in_San_Antonio for more info) throughout the city.
