fashion blinds logo for flooring leaders 'Carpet Call'
Add your question or comments below
Hi guys, thanks for your submissions so far, i appreciate all the effort.
Just to clarify - Carpet Call is the parent company - the actual contest is to design a logo for a subcategory of blinds with the name 'fashion blinds'
Looking at the early stuff, my suggestion that using the blue and red pm colours from the carpet call logo won't work - go with whatever colours you feel work best to the rest of the brief.
I will amend the brief to ignore the previous colour advice.
folks - I've added some more pics of old school roller blinds and modern look. If you have something to pull the blind (like a rod or chain) show it to the side and all teh way to the top. The old circle on string at the middle of the blind is often used to in blind images, but its been obsolete for years. Because we wont to look up to date we dont want to show really older style blind types - hope that helps in the design.
Thanks again for your excellent designs, there's some really good stuff coming in.
Hi folks,
I know were in time zones all over the world... I'm in Australia AEST so I'm going to go AFK for a while. Thank you so much for hard work and creative and innovative designs so far. If you submit anything in the next few hours I cant give immediate feedback but I will be back in the morning with some for you. Still plenty of time after that for tweak in all time zones so we'll talk then.
thanks again for your efforts.

howdy all,
Lots and lots of of quality submissions over night. I think I've given feedback on all.
Some trends - there's still a lot of venetian blinds in the devices. Submissions that incorporate a roller blind have an advantage as that's the main blind type sold in our market. See the attachments for examples of roller blinds.
To gain a creative edge, look at examples of double blinds where there is a semi transparent blind at the back, and then a fabric block colour blind in front. If you can imply that n your device you can have fun with transparencies and feature the main product we sell as well. Try to avoid having rings on string coming from the middle bottom of the blind if possible - in a modern blind the chain or rod is side mounted.
Hope this helps with the design revisions - if you've done something other than that and it looks great, you could still be in the poll but its close then roller blind devices with modern feel would sneak an advantage.
thanks again for all of your hard work, I tremendously admire the work ethic and talent of the pool of designers here and at 99d. You guys are amazing.
Thank you everyone for your talented work and original ideas. As you can see there a many submissions and numerous designs still in the running.
In terms of next steps I will be showing the final entries to the managing director and national stakeholders tomorrow AEST (Monday) probably in the morning and expect to award the prize later that day.
In general when I've run this contests at close there's a fairly obvious winner but I can tell you there are quite few of a high quality and standard and the owner does not make the always make an obvious decision so plenty are in with a chance on the day.
Thanks again for your efforts, I do hope you have had a good time on the challenge and found the process enjoyable.
warm regards and best luck in the judging

Hi all,
An update on the competition.
Not surprisingly given the number of submissions of similar high quality the stakeholders have not been able to come to a unanimous decision and its for that reason we haven't yet made a final decision yet. In fact they are equally split among 4 entries.
I do expect a final call shortly and will advise as soon as I have it.
warm regards

Congratulations Campion1 for your winning design.
Special mentions to daniswarasayang and Ashu who's designs polled strongly and we're right in contention to the very last.
Thanks everyone for your creative and talented work, good luck in future contests and long and successful careers.
warm regards
Adam
