Logo Design Brief
Shoppingbird is an Australian shopping directory, focusing on fashion retailing. We provide a comprehensive search platform for our users where they are able to locate fashion stores and brands. For fashion retailers shoppingbird is a valuable marketing tool, enabling them to list their stores and drive more traffic to their boutiques.
Tagline:
Giving you a bird’s eye view on your shopping
Brand identity:
Our brand is fashionable, confident, intelligent, approachable, positive, inspiring and stylish.
Logo feel:
Simple
Professional
Modern
We would like to see play with the letters in the word ‘shoppingbird’ and maybe some clever ways of making the letters into different shapes. Maybe one of the letters can be made into a bird?
Usage:
Logo will be used on our website, across all of our print material, including brochures and business cards.
If we are satisfied with the logo we might contract the designer for additional projects such as company stationery etc.
Updates
Thankyou all for some great interpretations of our brief. After reviewing thesubmissions so far, here’s our comments:
Thedesigns so far have all been very colourful, and we would like to keep the logoreally clean and simple, since we are going for a more fashionable, upscale look - so maybe a little less colour would be good.
Wewould like to see more play with the letters in the word ‘shoppingbird’ andmaybe some clever ways of making the letters into different shapes. Maybe oneof the letters can be made into a bird?
Ifyou could show how your logo can be used as a condensed square version as wellas a long version that would be great.
Allsubmissions so far have had a bird in them. We are after a really clean andsimple logo and would like the emphasis to be on the word ‘shoppingbird’, somaybe the bird isn’t necessary?
.com.aucan be omitted as well, or if included it should be smaller than ‘shoppingbird’
We have uploaded a PDF to our brief showing the logo style we are after.
If you want to revise your logo after this feedback you are very welcome to :)
Happy designing!

Requirements
Must have
- shoppingbird (all in one word and lowercase) must be included in the logo.
Logo must look good on website, but must also be easy to use in printed material on different backgrounds
We would prefer if the base colour of the logo was black. If any other colours are used it should be as an accent and one of our corporate colours (or a shade of these) as per below:
Fuchsia: R215 G11 B109 / C11 M100 C30 K0
Orange: R246 G175 B4 / C3 M34 Y100 K0
Green: R166 G187 B23 / C41 M11 Y100 K0
Blue: R22 G118 B156 / C87 M45 Y24 K2
Or Gray
Nice to have
- Some sort of graphic element maybe (but not necessarily) a bird, playing with other icons / objects would also be nice.
Play with different fonts/different font weights might be nice, or play with different letter shapes etc.
It would be good if it was possible to use two different versions of the logo – one long version and one condensed (more square) version.
Should not have
- Not be too cartoon- looking to look too much like the Twitter logo, not be handwritten
No shopping trolleys
Not too colourful
We don't want cute little birds - we want stylish!
