Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for a new LLC called Spangenberg Partners. We are based out of San Diego, CA and will be a manufacturer's rep for trucking technology. Our first product will be with a company called Mobileye. We are a family-based start up, with the last name Spangenberg. We cherish our German/Jewish background. Something like a family "crest" or "shield" design is something we might like. There is a trucking company called CR England, and their design is something that we like. We like the royal, "jewel" tones...something that hints of either Old World, heritage, Jewish/Hebrew look, family, steady, long-term, royal, ...a shield shape maybe that has a subtle crown at the top, with somehow the Star of David integrated into the design, maybe at the bottom. Maybe incorporate the letter S...maybe partially above and behind the shield..or in the shield? Possibly S.P., but not sure about the P (for Partners), but possibly. We desire to partner with other technology suppliers in the trucking industry, so maybe partnering hands, or a handshake..? We value relationships, safety, innovation, savings (lives and $$$), trust, and partnerships. A tagline we use right now is "Providing the trucking technology industry with premier sales representation." We know many folks in the industry already, mostly as friends, also as business partners, but we value the friendships most of all. Our name Spangenberg is already well recognized.
I have been chatting with others, and now want to add more thoughts. I will keep the above info in case it is helpful. Here is another idea, more simple and probably more fitting. The shield shape, the crown at the top and the center "gem" of the crown is the the Star of David. That makes the star small but still in the crest/shield. Then the braided edging to represent the cord of three idea that we like,and then in the center maybe keeping it much more simple. My husband mentions now maybe having a lion? Or maybe an S designed in the center...not sure what else could be in there that would represent the various things we value or want to represent to the industry.
I think we want to be able to use the crest by itself, but also have the ability to use a whole image that includes the crest as well as the text Spangenberg Partners, along with the tagline Road Wise. Maybe the Spangenberg Partners in larger decorative font, with Road Wise below in a more simple tagline manner.
