Logo Design Brief
Designers are invited to reimagine what the logos of big company brands would look like if they got a hipster makeover. Grab high resolution versions of big brand logos like McDonald's, Dell, Costco, Goldman Sachs, BP (see full list below) and 'hipsterize' them.
Typically hipster logos are handmade, personal and often utilize a badge motif, with decorative elements, vintage typefaces and contain details like this to reinforce authenticity.:
- EST. or SINCE for year the brand was established
- The name of the country of origin such as USA
- Co. to confirm it's a legitimate company
Don't hesitate to add a moustache, glasses and other accessories.
Typeface: Anything minimal, modern, cursive, handwritten, slightly industrial, 'flat' and stripped back. Popular fonts include Wisdom Script, Futura Bold, etc. Check outhttp://www.1001fonts.com/ and search for "hipster or check out http://www.typewolf.com/top-10-hipster-fonts
Color: Hipsters prefer more vintage, gentle, pastel color palette with a bit of bright primary colours thrown in for good measure.
