CORRECTION: Name of company should be "Alliance Training Solutions"...sorry!
We need a business card design including a logo for a new company based in Reykjavik called "Allied Training Solutions". The company will provide adversary aircraft and other live and simulated military assets based and operated in and around Iceland. NATO and NATO friendly forces will come there for training -- similar to "Top Gun" but more modern and sophisticated. The system will include a network that can link any/all participants into a synthetic training environment which includes both real and simulated assets.
We would like designs that are crisp, elegant an catch the eye while avoiding flashiness or gimmickrey. We want the logo on the card to be indicative of what we do but avoid indications that it is "military" in nature -- in part because of political sensitivities and wanting to avoid the perception that we are militarizing but also because our facilities and assets will be used for non-military-training purposes such as disaster relief, arctic search and rescue.
We welcome any and all ideas.
If possible would like a design including proposed typeface and locations for company name, address and phone; individual name, title, phone and email that we can edit easily.
For what it's worth, one idea we've had is for the logo to consist of a "wire frame" globe with land masses in solid color and the center of the view on Iceland/the North Atlantic (and showing, of course, most of the Arctic). There could then be thin lines arcing out of a single point in Iceland and following a "ballistic" trajectory to several of the capitals of NATO countries (a list of all 28 current NATO countries is here: http://www.nato.int/cps/en/natolive/nato_countries.htm). It would be too busy to have 28 individual lines, so a smaller number with a nice "spread" should be aesthetically pleasing. This feature will represent the networked synthetic training environment we will be creating. Additionally, two or three or four small stylized aircraft with thin trails near the globe to represent the air-to-air training which is a key component of what we are doing. Attached is an extremely lame hand drawing which approximates what we've just described (does not include the "wire" frame longitudinal lines of the globe).

Allied Training Solutions...Live, Synthetic, Networked (not certain we want this to be part of the logo or a tag line we can use elsewhere on a business card or document that includes the logo)
