Logo Design Brief

This is a logo for a personal website (solaegis.com)

Logo

Warrior in the half-kneeling position, holding a shield protecting him from a blast of light from the sun.

Elements

Man:
Muscular Assyrian male with pleated hair and beard (see picture)
He can be nude or with an Egyptian style loin cloth. (see picture)
He is facing left (toward the sun), and half-kneeling on his right knee.

Shield:
Large, round and concave. The shield can have a pattern or image.

Sun:
Sun should be coming from upper left.
I like the symbolism of the Assyrian star (see picture), though not required. Interested in your ideas.

Colors/Style

Colors should be in the beige/yellow/gold/brown range — Sand, sunlight, skin.
As for style, I like both the clean lines of art deco sculpture or the worn, raised lines of ancient wall reliefs, but am open to other ideas.
