Wordpress Design Brief
My current employer (www.prospectgroup.com.au) requires the establishment of a new web page (www.prospectredalert.com.au) to promote safety and environmental products which will be sold to the oil / gas / mining and environmental sectors. The web page needs to be somehow aligned with the parent company page above (if only the colouring to appease my boss), yet innovate and awesome. The successful designer will be expected to provide coded files and be able to provide additional services to edit and launch the website. The website is currently operational but the content and format are both poor. The website will be predominantly based around promoting our products but will include a "buy online" section for some products which will be part of the website, but on a different tab / layer. Video's and flash will be part of the successful web page. Actually, I know very little about web pages so just go for gold and make it good and make it work. I am not adding any files at this point in time, but do post a message if you require any files.
Updates
This project is current marked as "refundable". I have never not paid for a design with design crowd and intend to work with the winning person and make payment. I really have little idea about web page design and how the home page and all the layers work (I need layers in this project, it is not just a single page obviously). This is the only reason it is marked as refundable in case I need to change category of posting etc....

Hi All,
I have updated the Product Categories and Market Sectors. This new document is called "Product Categories" and has been uploaded. Please use this in conjunction with the Reference Data document provided earlier.
Notes:
White space is good
I want people to be able to find products by "category" or by "market sector". The category section is most important however.
Good Luck and thanks.

Hi All,
Update on: white space, product specifications and customer contact.
Please remember that this website will be promoting products. For the product pages, each product will have a picture (at least one), an overview and technical specifications (.pdf which can be downloaded). Plenty of white space is good so there is less clutter. I also want to make it easy, on each page, for a user to be able to see our contact details. I don't want them hidden in size 6 font somewhere like many pages who don't want customers contacting them.
I hope this update helps.

Target Market(s)
Our products will be promoted to customers in Australia and SE Asia in the mining, oil and gas sectors predominantly with local government also a purchaser. Most purchase decisions will be made by males and people needing to solve problems quickly. They often won't care what product they receive as long as it does the job.

Requirements
Must have
- Must be aligned with our parent company page design (www.prospectgroup.com.au). When I say aligned, I am talking effectively about fonts and colouring. The page design itself can be innovative beyond the parent company page design.
Somewhere on the page it must say we are a division of Prospect Group Pty Ltd.
Nice to have
- Easy to find products, read about them and download brochures. Links to be provided to "buy online" or "request a quote" next to each product, but without pricing.
It is essential that contacting us by phone, email etc... is easy to find through every layer of the page. This is essential. We would like some photo's on the home page scrolling through products, but these do not need to be large. Our current website (prospectredalert.com.au) has photo's but they are too big.
