Hi there
We are starting an online pet boutique in Sydney, Australia. Our ambition is to sell unique, high quality and hard to find pet supplies and also gifts for people who love pets. Our name is 'Haus of Hund' ('HoH' for short) and our tag line is 'A boutique for pets and the people who love them'. This boutique will primarily stock items that are high quality and quite expensive and we need our logo to reflect that (i.e. definitely not a cute/kitsch/childish look that many pet stores use but rather a classy, modern look).
We need a large, primary logo using our full name 'Haus of Hund' as well as a mini logo using 'HoH'.
Mini logo - HoH (readable at 20 by 20px but supplied as a vector):
- Very simple black and white logo, using an easy to read font. I'd prefer the font to be sans serif, thin and tall - like Moonflower but perhaps a bit neater.
- We quite like the idea of turning the little 'o' in HoH into a minimalist/simple cat/dog nose with whiskers. Perhaps using the whiskers to form the crossbars in the 'H's.
- We would prefer a sophisticated, classy look, rather than a cartoony look for both logos so please keep this in mind.
- I have attached a stamp that includes a cat face and whiskers. In this image the nose/whiskers on the cat face have the right kind of look (i.e. simple and straight whiskers over curved) (see File 1).
Large logo (readable at 200 by 200px but supplied as a vector) - Haus of Hund coat of arms:
- We really like the idea of utilising a minamilist/simple coat of arms with a dog on one side and a cat on the other. The mini HoH logo design above would be contained within the shield and then the full name of the store, 'Haus of Hund', below the shield (either in a ribbon or not). Ideally the font for the words 'Haus of Hund' should be the same as the mini HoH logo above but this is not essential.
- In the files attached there is a coat of arms with dogs on either side (File 2) - we like the look of this coat of arms although it is too complex (overly detailed and embellished) for our purposes. We do like the regal, thin look of the dog.
- Also in the files attached is an image of a cat (File 3) - I like the look of this cat to accompany the dog in the coat of arms.
- We are primarily utilising quite a neutral pallet - white, black, and perhaps gold as a highlight. If another colour is needed then dark blue could potentially be included.
- I've included File 4 as an example of something we do *not* want. This logo is too "cartoony" and childish. The whole ensemble looks cheap and a lot like clipart.
- We're certainly willing to take on the designer's expertise in the project so if you have suggestions as to why any of the above wouldn't work or other ideas, please let us know. You are free to experiment with the brief but the above should form the basis for your initial mocks.
Thanks so much for considering our project! We look forward to forming an ongoing relationship with a hardworking, talented designer for future projects.
