Web Design Brief

I need a WordPress compatible website design idea. I have already hired a programmer, however; I am not happy with the design ideas he has come up with, I need help in creating a professional but classy/unique design for my company website.

A bit about my company....
Quote Logic (the logo was created here on DesignCrowd and I love it!!) is a brokerage company... I source out Print, Design and Websites for my customers, helping them find the best quality for the best prices, and saving them time and money by managing the project.
My company was called "I.T.S. Design & Printing", and you can view the current site at itsdesign-printing.com, but I am now operating as Quote Logic so I am needing an updated site.

What I would like to see in the site...
Because my site will be a big selling feature, I would like it to be professional, but some really nice/creative design characteristics to it. I am attaching what my programmer has come up with and you'll see it is very flat, and the pictures way to large. "Quote Logic-updated.jpg"
I am also attaching my logo, and a couple of site ideas I found that I like as well.

I was hoping for some sort of wave at the top, or something eye catching.
The design should say we are professional, but are creative and classy.
I love the gold/brown combination, as that is my logo, but I don't want a totally dark background, I like the use of whitespace as well.

Please note: This design will proceed the design of two or three trade show pull up banners, which I am wanting to award to the winning designer. Please keep in mind that the graphics will need to be available in a vector format to accommodate that.
