Logo Design Brief
We are holding a youth leadership conference for students that are in the nonprofit student organization called DECA. DECA is an association of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs.
As part of this event, we're holding a special "event within an event" called the "DECA GARAGE." And, we need a sweet identity/logo/icon that captures the entrepreneurial spirit of chilling in a garage with your friends where the sky is the limit and the possibilities are endless (think Dell, MSFT, Apple, HP, Amazon, FB all in their early days).
The idea behind the Garage is to invite students who actually have businesses or who are in the start up phase. We have a great guy who won on ABC Shark Tank who will be their mentor over two days. We have a silent angel investor who will donate $2500 in startup capital to the best overall business concept.
But, what we need is some sweet eye candy to make it POP.
The final design needs to somehow integrate the "DECA LOGO" and capture the feel of a garage as well. For some reason my mind is telling me it needs to be somewhat "grungy" like a garage might be, but, we're totally open to a sweet design and fresh approach. I kind of like the cleanness of the Microsoft "The Garage" approach with their red building icon, but, not sure it's enough for a youthful audience.
I'm uploading the DECA logo, the graphic package we have for the overall conference, some designs that students have attempted that are possible but not quite there yet, as well as some eye candy that MSFT and Google have for their internal incubator garages.
Final application of this logo would be in the form of a banner, an icon for the conference program, recognition certificates, on screen PPT slide, and probably some social media promotion as well. So, we likely need a core design of which a key element (e.g. icon) that would represent the spirit of the DECA Garage in communication when the rest of the branding is not suitable or appropriate for the particular medium.
Hoping someone can rock some creative madness!

Thank you for the tremendous work, talent, and creativity you showed through this project. We were blown away with the quality and caliber of designs submitted. Designs are currently being surveyed amongst our team and client. We expect to decide by Friday. Thank you again for your contribution and effort.
