Magazine Design Brief

Starkey Products is looking for a magazine ad design for a 1/2 page island. This ad will showcase several of our Ford Mustang aftermarket products. This advertisement should be geared toward the automotive/ off-road community.

The design should use red/black/silver colors as well as any others you may want to use. Please avoid yellow or orange.

The design should communicate rugged off-road quality and dependability.

  1/2 Island
  Non Bleed: 4.3125 x 7.3125
  Bleed: 5.0625 x 8.0625
  Trim: 4.8125 x 7.8125
  Safety: 4.3125 x 7.3125
  A SWOP-standard proof, created from the supplied file, must be submitted with each 4-Color ad.

  Here is the suggested layout of the ad - this isn't written in stone, but we think it would look nice. If you have a great idea that you think will look better, please feel free to suggest it.
  
  Starkey Products logo should be nested at top-left of ad. Top-right should be the following:
  “CALL US 877-332-8098” (should be in large, bold text that calls attention)
  “www.Starkey-Products.com”
  
  Below the logo/ contact info should be the following text in large print to span the width of the advertisement: “FOG LIGHT KITS & WIRING”

  IMG 6100 should be near the bottom. We have a vision of this being the bottom part of the ad and spanning the entire width of the ad. I would also recommend cropping the background out of the picture (from the car’s wheels and up) so that the car looks as if it is ‘sitting’ on the asphalt at the bottom of the ad.
  
  
  

Nice to have

• Cool background - something darker (possibly gray in color). Possibly with rough marks, scratches.
  Use fonts that compliment the style of font used in the company logo.

Should not have

• No pictures/ illustrations of animals or people. Do not use fonts that do not compliment the logo font.
