Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for our fine art print gallery called "Travel Witness'. We specialise in high quality photographic travel and landscape prints. Our portfolio covers many world wide locations and dramatic landscapes and includes many award winning artists. The design needs to work well on either a black or white background and will be printed on a variety of media.

The final design should communicate art (photography), adventure and exploration.

Requirements

Must have

• Simplicity is key, we like clever use of typography and clean unfussy graphics. Finished design needs to work well horizontally.
  
  The finished design will be used on the web as watermarks, as a web banner and printed on clothing as well as brochures and exhibition displays so needs to be versatile.

Nice to have

• We are open to either a graphic and text or purely typographical.
  What we do like is strong typographic designs with maybe one letter replaced with a graphic. The 'A' of Travel with a mountain peak for example. We are open to suggestion here.
  
  Graphic elements that could work well:
  
  Mountain peak
  Lens iris - the more abstract the better
  Simplified globe - can be abstract
  Jet plane - simplified and abstract
  
  
  Typographical elements that could work well:
  
  San serif fonts - bold or heavy that have a slight modification to add character
  Serif fonts - Elegant - not script
  Hand written fonts - to add a dynamic feel - not comic sans please
  

Should not have

• Too many colours. Overly complicated tints and grads - subtle is good.
