Branding, logo, shop signage etc for a fusion-Chinese retail store in Wellington, New Zealand

Hi there, what a great project.

Please can you clarify a few things:

1. In terms of design look and feel, do you have an example of a "Fusion Look"? (Logo's, Colours, imagery, etc.)

2. Do you know if there is a chinese symbol for the words "Suzhou" & "Gallery"?

2. Brochureware website layout - Is this just for a simple mockup?
- I would say the addition of a website, etc. would be over budget as you mentioned.

3. I can also help you with a 3D store render of your sketches, but this would depend on budget again.

Thanks a mil - Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for asking!

I''ve attached a new PDF to the brief with some photos of the shop and some logos from nearby.

As for your questions:

1. I was mainly trying to avoid anything too strongly Chinese that might alienate people. For examples of businesses around us that do what I would consider fusion stuff see:

http://www.t2tea.com/
http://www.javainteriors.co.nz/
http://www.ancestral.co.nz/
http://www.dragon-fly.co.nz/

As you can probably see, the trend is dark backgrounds, simple designs, usually red/orange/yellow colour if any, and elegant clean lines. Hope that helps? I really don''t want to constrain creativity though, as we don''t really win if we don''t stand out in some way.

2. Suzhou as in the city is "??" in simplified characters, or "??" in traditional script. Rather than "gallery", which doesn''t make much sense in this context in Chinese, we might go with "showroom", which is "??"/"??". Unfortunately all these characters are a bit busy.

2 (the second one!). Yeah I''m a web monkey as my day job, so just a brief layout showing the use of the logo and potential colours was all I was after. I can take it from there. That part of the job is negotiable, as we could live without it for now.

3. That could be interesting. We''re still having a hard time deciding how to lay the shop out, and even figuring out the complete list of things we''ll have to sell on opening day. I like the work in your portfolio. Will keep this in mind.

Hmm. Those Chinese characters didn''t seem to come out very well.

Turn up the right results.

Hi there,

Please could you provide some feedback on those sketches I did for you last week?
There were three options in terms of direction.

Thank you - Ryan

Hi there,

I was having trouble uploading my PDF file through the source files link (its quite large) would you be able to double check that you received it with my submission?

Hope you enjoy it, it was a really cool project to work on.

Thanks,

James Fitzgerald
