Custom Blend, Gourmet Tea Business Needs a Logo Design
Add your question or comments below
Hi,
I've uploaded a couple of designs (more to follow).
I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
Have a lovely day!
Kind Regards,
Cheandrie
Hi Cheandrie,
Hi Sarah,
Thank you for your invitation to work on your logo. If you are still inviting designers this tells me that you haven't yet found a designer who is working in a design style that resonated with you. Can I ask you a couple of questions about what you think of competitors logos? This would give me better insight into what you are looking for stylistically and how you envisage your product. Remember a brand is a personality so all the information about the kind of person you want your brand to represent and how you see your brand as different from your competitors is essential for a designer.
What do you think of Madame Flavours branding?
What do you think of T2 branding?
What do you think of Harney and Sons branding?
Thanks so much,
Better answers will lead to better designs

Hi Krystal,
Wow, great questions! Thank you so much for your considerate enquiry. I''d love to share with you a little bit about what I am trying to achieve.
I am a tea lover, and I really want to be able to communicate this passion to customers. My business specialises in hand blended, custom made, gourmet tea. Loose leaf. The website provides an interactive system where people can "build" their own mixes. As well as this I also sell my own blends as well as rare and specialty teas sourced from around the world. My brand is up market (so not just what you can find in the supermarket), but I don''t want it to come across in anyway pretentious. I''d like a design that is simple and classy, I don''t like things that are overcomplicated. I''d like something that is visually appealing, even on the verge of pretty without alienating male customers. I''d like something that will work on my website as well as my packaging. I will also be marketing the custom blends as great wedding/baby shower bonbonniere ideas, so again the aesthetics are really important. I will also be running tea parties/tea education classes.
I’ve never had a logo designed before and so far the process has been very exciting, but I have also learned a lot very quickly. The designs which have appealed to me most so far have had the text all on one line and used either green or grey/black or a combination of both. They have either incorporated a leaf somewhere into the text or used a small simple graphic to enhance the text. I’ve had an idea of a tree graphic with one leaf somehow highlighted that I’d love to see if somebody can create.
So, onto your question about branding. I love the personal nature of Madame Flavour’s website and the way she communicates her story. I also love the “label” style icons, they remind me of the text screens in old silent cinema. I also like the MF style seal that is used occasionally through out the website and on the loading screen (I’d love a seal that I can use!). I don’t however like the font or the icon in her full logo. Of the three companies you have mentioned her website has the closest “feel” to what I’d like to create.
T2’s branding is simple, effective and immediately recognisable. I don’t however find it visually appealing and for somebody who didn’t know the brand it is not immediately clear what they are selling. I also don’t like the colour used.
I like the classic, old world look of Harney & Sons, you really believe they are “Master Tea Blenders” of old. I also like the use of a tag line down the bottom to confirm what they do. The crest also suggests a family business. It is, however, too masculine and structured for what I hope to create with my business.
Tea to me is an adventure, a luxury and an escape. I want a logo that makes customers want to come on this adventure with me too!
Thanks again for your thoughtful enquiry and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Cheers,
Sarah
