Book Cover Design Brief

Our project will culminate in a volume that will provide the first comprehensive (but non-technical) history of cyber conflict, from its pre-history, to the origins in the 1980s and up to today.

We are looking for a creative professional cover that will make this project exciting. Our existing draft is printed on 8 and 1/2 by 11 size paper, however, the final draft could be smaller or a different dimension so the background should look good even if shrunk down a bit. We'd appreciate a 300 ppi resolution at full size.

Thanks, and Good Luck!

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We have identified our favorite designs for the book cover and are ready to commit to pay, during this stage we wanted to see if we could have a better dialogue with graphic artists to get designs closer to our favorites to give us more options. We will be posting these recommendations about what we liked and didn't on the evening of November 7 EST. Thanks for helping us on this exciting project to document cyber conflict history.

We wanted to post our thoughts on the designs submitted by November 7th.  We liked a lot of them and wanted to point out a couple of our favorites to give inspiration to anyone else who'd like the chance to participate.

Grapearts got the logo for CCSA just right, and has a nice modern conservative look

NegZero found a great image that's striking and would draw attention to the book

Franzi has done some of the most innovative designs, his recent designs for us look very professional, and we like that he's experimented with designs further afield from the original blue cover

Please use these works as inspiration, and keep on innovating. We've committed to paying a designer.  This work will be published and shared amongst major policy makers in DC and taught in university curriculum.  Its an exciting project, and we're glad to have design be a part of it.

Thanks,
-Karl
