Packaging Design Brief

The customer will create their own custom chocolate bar from over 70 different ingredients- fruit, nuts and sweets.

The bars will be sealed in cellophane bags and then placed in an envelope with a large window which allows the toppings on the chocolate bar to be seen.

The packaging should be appealing and attractive to suit the gift market- so looking quite premium/artisan, but also a bit unique and quirky.

Am currently looking for one base design, but in the future am looking to offer several packaging design variations that the customer can select from (for example, seasonal ones).

Requirements
Must have
  • 1) Design for a DLX sized envelope
    - Including a window
    - Base design to have a blank space to allow for application of label (label will be customised for each order)
    - Website url to be prominent (yumjumble.com.au)

    2) Design for label that can be printed individually (intending to thermal print from a PC) and will fit in the space allowed for on the envelope. Label needs to contain
    - Printing on label will be in black, and background will be white
    - Product name/message field (which will have been selected by the customer)
    - Listing of the ingredients the customer selected (up to 5- for example as a bullet pointed list)
    - Standard Australian Nutrition panel
    - Additional required text as per attachment which will be loaded up
Nice to have
  • 1) Would like the files in SVG format if possible?

    2) Would like the window to be a reasonable size so the contents are quite visible- was thinking about 80mmX80mm or equivalent (doesn't have to be square though)

    4) Would like a design that integrates the separate label well- for example it could be placed on an area which has a white background and a larger border/shape around it. Also, because the label will have a mix of "important" stuff (like the name the customer has selected for the mix) and more boring stuff (like the nutrition panel & contact details)- it could make sense for the label to be located running over from front to back of the envelope- with nutrition panel ending up on the back and the name on the front.

    3) Base stock for the envelope could be kraft brown. I also like the idea of an image of a ribbon or bow to give a little bit of personality and look "gifty"
