Logo Design Brief

Objective
To produce a logo to brand my video and photography work.

Target Audience
Customers, who are mainly Ad Agencies, Design Firms, Social Media and other types of marketing agencies, film production companies. Secondary audience are entreprenuers and businesses who want to use photography, web video for their social media marketing endeavors, such as trendy clothing stores, upscale downtown coffee shops, and restaurants, all mainly located in Metropolitan centers and upscale artsy areas of San Diego, Irvine, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Francisco, New York, and Dubai.

Perception / Tone / Guidelines
The design should be timeless, conservative, minimalist, yet warm and inviting, with bold character. Simple but something different or a step above your typical photographer logo ( IE First / Last name using two fonts/weights/colors) Oh yeh Sparing use of color. Monotone. I need something that will look good on my website banner, a T-Shirt, in the corner of a photo to brand and copyright images. I prefer San Serif fonts, simple, but something with more character than Helvetica and all of her illegiment red headed step children. ( No offense to anyone born in bastardly state, red heads, or any member of a second or third marriage family) To get to learn a bit about who I am to better understand charateristics to fuse into the design, there is a short bio video on my site at http://ilyascurtis.com/ilyas/

Sources of Inspiration
I am not looking to reproduce any of the following brands but in order to help you understand that which is sweet to my eye, here are a list of brands I admire. Apple, Ikea, Comedy Central, Nautica, LRG Clothing, GAP, BMW, Mercedes, Porche, Addidas, Barilla, Home Depot, Swiss Army (Knives and Watches), Wax Poetics (Magazine), Esquire, Kenneth Cole,

The first thing I will do with this logo is to create a new banner for my website. So most importantly is that the logo harmonizes well with the existing design. Infact I would prefer if design submissions were formatted atop a screen grab of my existing website, http://ilyascurtis.com.

****Last note regarding logo text. I want the name Ilyas Curtis to be able to stand on it's own as I might want to expand the brand to be used for other products and services. So where it will say Film & Photoworks, I want the design made so that I could easily replace "Film & Photoworks" with "Bistro/MediterraneanBistro" or so Ilyas Curtis could stand on it's own as a clothing label.

• I want the name Ilyas Curtis to be able to stand on it's own as I might want to expand the brand to be used for other products and services. Nice to have

• Logo should be simple but have recognizable character to it that sets it apart, conservatively. I prefer some type of reworked San Serif Font, Bold, with tight kerning but am open to anything that looks good. I would also like to explore use of hand written style font (Custom prefered, not some font that came from your computer or is easily available at 1001freefonts.com

Should not have

• Too much like typical photographer logo, simply two typefaces/color combination for first and last name.
