Logo Design Brief

Looking for a logo that I can use on across various platforms - web, letterhead, collateral, even (3-D) promotional materials such as water bottles and match sticks.

Mavericks of Marketing is a boutique marketing services firm dedicated to helping small/medium businesses and entrepreneurs achieve big business results without access to big budgets. We focus on business planning and maximizing the tools that each business has at their disposal. We think outside of the box and usually work at grass root levels.  We chose the name Mavericks because of its meaning:nonconformist, free spirit, unorthodox person, original, eccentric - this should be represented in the design. We are not looking for the usual corporate designed logo.

Requirements

Must have

• Use of the "M" is intriguing and might spark someone. 
  The Mavericks should stand out from the "of Marketing" as it''s the most important word in the name.
  I would also like the use of an abstract "star" used in the design in a contemporary or unconventional way. 
  
  Please make sure you consider the application of the logo to the aforementioned mediums. I would like the logo to be "contained", so it feels like one unit. 
  

Nice to have

• Color combinations that I am in favor of:
  -Black with ANY color (such as lime green, turquoise blue, red) except yellow or pink.
  -Chocolate brown with ANY color (such as lime green, turquoise blue, orange) exceptyellow or pink.
  -Navy/Silver
  -Black/Silver
  -Deep Purple/Lime Green
  
  
  Also, I am a big fan of Helvetica Neue Ultra Light in lower case, but it''s not an absolute must.
  
  SURPRISE ME. BLOW ME AWAY. IF WE LOVE YOUR DESIGN THERE ARE FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES MUCH BIGGER THAN THIS PROJECT.
