WHAT WE NEED:
A hot logo to represent our bold attempt to reshape and redefine marketing by crowdsourcing hundreds (eventually thousands) of the world's (this will be global) best corporate marketers.
BACKGROUND:
The marketing function has been turned on its head in just the last few years due to new technologies, media and customer expectations. Analysts predict the pace of change will accelerate exponentially. Traditional marketing approaches, organizational structures, mindsets and skillsets are cracking under the pressure.
Marketers are making adjustments on the fly as they struggle to keep pace, yet marketing impact and customer engagement are at a relative standstill. All the changes are creating distractions and disruptions that are further exacerbating marketing’s challenge to reinvent itself.
A new approach to marketing is being sought by marketers everywhere, but none have been successful at "changing the engine midflight". It feels like one step forward, then two steps back. Why not tap into this creativity, energy, and drive to collectively jump ahead of the curve?
This is what lead to the idea to crowdsource “Marketing: THE REMIX!”
CREATIVE BRIEF:
Brand personality: Bold, savvy, modern, hip (but not hipster :p), global/worldly-wise, professional but lighthearted, authentic, get-things-done, confident, exciting, positive, visionary
Color palette: main color would be purple, secondary colors may be turquoise, green and/or a reddish-mauve. Check out the shell of what my website will be to see the theme I'm using. That will give you some ideas. www.marketing-theremix.com
Logo setup:
The logo should be able to work stacked or horizontal. Stacked will be the primary one. The word "Marketing" on top, and "THE REMIX" (in CAPS) underneath.
Logo usage: mainly on website, but also other digital uses like email campaigns, etc. I am unlikely to have business cards - but I may change my mind :-) .
Other considerations:
I'm quite intrigued by this neon sign rendering of the word "remix". Not mandatory to use this approach, but feel free to try it and/or use something equally unique.

The look can have a bit of an urban feel - but more polished, upbeat and modern.
