Our nonprofit group is organizing a race series consisting of three outdoor, adventure-race style races taking place Nov 14, 15 and 16, 2014. The three races consist of a night orienteering race (taking place in the dark) on 11/14, then a race at noon on 11/15, and then a race known as an Ultralong (orienteering) race on 11/16. The races consist of runners navigating on foot (using a map and a compass) through forests.
We want a logo saying either "The Long Day's Night" or "Long Day's Night", maybe saying it is a race series or that it is 3 races in total, and then indicating the date as Nov. 14 - 16, 2014.
In terms of themes, think about terms like rugged, adventure, Amazing Race, Survivor, Eco-Challenge, Primal Quest, day & night (black & white?), running, topographic maps, and compass.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We thought the deadline was midnight May 20, but it turns out to have been 8:10am rather than midnight. As a result, the deadline is being extended by just 1 day, to 8:10am May 21.
But before you ask ... No, I don't know what time zone DesignCrowd uses, so I don't know in GMT time units what that will mean.

Requirements
Must have
- Must include the phrase Long Day's Night, and, the dates Nov. 14 - 16, 2014.
Nice to have
- A way to play with the three words making up the phrase: Long, Day, and Night.
Might include a topographic map motif (like, contour lines) or a compass if done in a simple enough way (i.e. don't make it too fancy).
Should not have
- Frills, decorative swirls, or anything fancy. The logo should appeal to someone who thinks they want a physical and mental challenge. Also, although this is like an adventure race, it is not actually one, so it is best to *not* use the term "adventure race" anywhere in the logo.
