Logo Design Brief

I have an existing (dated) logo for a company called Trinzic Energy, originally formed to invest in renewable energy and other "green" projects. While that's still the primary mandate, the company is expanding into supporting other "social good" type projects. The final design should still convey energy (since that is part of the company name), but should appeal to a broader audience - without looking as austere as the current logo
