Web Design Brief
BoothScoot.com provides easy to use train schedule information in Chicago, IL between downtown and Hyde Park. The site has been around for about 3 years and the design has not changed since the weekend hackathon at which it was created. Now, it has a solid user base and is in dire need of a fresh design.
The design should be super-clean and intuitive. It is used by the type of people who love the style and personality of sites like Hipmunk. The design should incorporate the maroon color that is used extensively on the existing site. The main features are (1) the train depart times, (2) the fact that different stations can be selected as departure/arrival, (3) the fact that a user can click "earlier trains" or "later trains" to quickly scan the times.
This is a single-page web app that displays static content. The design should reflect that 100% of the users time is spent on the single page. There is no "sign up" process or external aspect. All focus should be used to design the best possible display of train times.
