Logo Design Brief

The Business Brigade is a startup company that I believe will revolutionize the independent insurance agency system. It will specialize in assessing risks within a small business, provide strategic planning around those risks, and will fill in the holes with insurance. It’s a modern approach to running an insurance agency, and at its core is a niche approach. Each salesman chooses his/her niche not out of forced necessity, but because they are passionate about being in that particular industry (i.e. If you love flying you would form a niche specialty around airports, etc). Each niche will have its own unique branding, but the core of each niche will have a similar marketing approach. The Business Brigade is essentially the umbrella company for all of the niches.

The business will be located in Colorado, so it needs to have a modern, green feel to it, while maintaining a professional image. I.e., fun and trendy, but not too fun and trendy…

I want the logo to convey to our customers that we are there as a trusted advisor to put out the fires in their business; that we are protecting their livelihoods. The name “brigade” lends itself to that image, a team working together to overcome a problem. It has both fire department and military origins, and means “task force”, but is used primarily to convey a sense of structure. The logo will be used in all of our marketing and to identify that each niche belongs to our agency. I will have the winner design the subsequent logos for each niche to maintain a cohesive marketing feel. Cash is tight since it’s a startup, but I’m very excited about this business and where it’s going. Thank you for your submissions!

Requirements

Must have

• The logo must have the business name, and I need to have it in multiple graphical formats for business cards, posters, word, adobe, etc. JPEG, RAW, BMP, TIFF, PSD, SVG, Vector, you get the picture...
  
  Needs to work with a white background.

Nice to have

• I'd love to incorporate my "Saint" logo, which is attached. I've used it for years in multiple variations, from my consulting business to the design I etch in my custom knives. It's pretty simplistic right now, so use your imagination to update it!
  
  Green, black, red, blue. I like bold colors without too many nuanced details.
  
  I really like long and low, not compact and tall.

Should not have

• No yellow or pastels, and it can't be a combination of red/black (my favorite colors, but alas I built my previous business with those colors). If you're clever enough to work them in without over relying on red&black, awesome!
