Menu Design Brief
So we need a menu layout for a very small cafe that can work for both customers in the cafe, as well as being handed out to local businesses. Boring, I know. Well here's some things to give direction and make it more fun.
1. It's an American Korean hybrid. American sandwiches and subs but also Korean dishes including Korean Style Chicken Wings. Her wings are amazing! No, even better then what you just thought.
2. I'm American born, & my wife who runs the cafe, was born in Seoul Korea. I had been toying with the thought of incorporating the Korean flag into a logo. I will attach the images to try and make it clearer.
3. It's called "The Lobby Cafe" no, we didn't name it, but what can you do eh? Anywho, the acronym for it is TLC. So we have been using the line, "The main ingredient in great food is the TLC." That doesn't have to stay but I dunno, kinda clever.
4. It has to stay professional kinda because we are in an office building, however my wife has a good sense of humor and laughs a lot. She tries to make it fun and not stuffy by joking around with the customers. They all love her smile and upbeat nature.
5. We are located in College Park MD close to University of Maryland in an office building, but we both wish we were out in West Virginia in the country.
6. One of her main dishes as far a popularity, is her Korean chicken wings and it just so happens we both love Roosters. Long story... and we do espresso... I'm imagining a coffee drinking rooster with his eyes bugged out on his caffeine buzz. Maybe it's just the fear of the fryer...
7. I thought today, "It sucks we're cooped up in the back of the lobby." ha... ahhhh... I need sleep.
8. I'm including a place holder I made for the website back when we were thinking of calling it RoosterFish Chicken. The Korean flag with it's meanings that are associated with my drawing of a possible logo... Did I mention I need a log designed too? Huh... Ok, well I attached the logo I was thinking about ripping off as the basis of that Idea. I'm not sold on it. It's just something my pea sized brain came up with. I have also attached a picture of my wife at the cafe that way you can get a vibe of her and the place. The menu items. Lastly a picture of a Rooster that I just simply love. I adjusted him in Photoshop and just love the color. Not sure about him making an appearance on the menu... just kinda showing him off I guess. I said I needed sleep right?...
Thanks for reading. Rule the roost!
