Icons for Pasture Management Web App
Add your question or comments below
Hi there,
Just to confirm; are all the icons you have listed required to be designed for the web app as well as the mobile app? So doubling up on everything, having one icon with the iPhone app look and the other for the web look?
And also, coming from a very different field to farming, would it be possible to suggest reasonable icons to represent things such as pasture and manure that a farmer would be able to associate with?
Thanks,
Jenkz
Hi Jenkz,
What I am after is monochrome, flat, vector-based icons. If you double up on any icon, it should only be to optimise for the example sizes. The iphone icon was just an example of a context in which these could end up being used. The majority of the usage will be "wingdings" style as indicated by the othe two attachments.
In terms of representing "pasture" - a farmer would probably see a "paddock" as a polygon they have designated. Possibly just a rectangle. You could also represent it with a side on cross section of some grass.
"Pasture cover" referes to the amount of grass, so a side-on view of some grass would work here.
Effluent/manure is applied as a liquid from some kind of piping system, so the idea of liquid coming out of a pipe is ok, as long as it's distinct somehow from applying water (which is also liquid coming out of a pipe). Applying water aka irrigation is the same cobncept as watering a lawn, just on an "industrial" scale, so you could get a bit whimsical here if you want.
Hope this helps. Happy to clear up any of the other terms you guys need clarified.
