Look we are needing a great website design for a local carpet cleaning business….I know you are asking how can you “be part of history” with a boring industry like carpet cleaning. Here is the deal….NO ONE in our city has a great design so when you are chosen as the designer you are literally making history by bringing a great design to our city in this industry…

I know it’s cheesy but I am trying to get you to use your skills to help us and make it fun at the same time.

Design Brief:

For this project please let your creative ideas flow. We have given you a ton of info along with videos to help you understand what we are after, however we WANT your creativity to shine through in your designs!

This is a local carpet cleaning company that does great work. Unfortunately the current web design is old, outdates, and looks like dirt. So how can they portray a great image with the site they currently have? They can’t so that is why we need your help.

This website needs to convey trust, professionalism, and be super clean and easy to navigate. People making decisions for carpet cleaners are doing this fast so we need to make the site stand out and easy to navigate.

As you can see the current site does not convey trust, looks amateur and does not make people believe that this business has been in business 20 years…this is actually the top company in Albuquerque, but the current site does not reflect that…

NOTE: We do not want to copy anything outright. We want to learn, model and take their ideas and make them better. We also want to be flexible and take what we like along with your creativity to make an amazing design.

Here is what we are looking for in more specific terms:

Colors: We need to keep the teal/turquoise look of the site. But we need some contrasting colors. Also the client likes white “its clean” so we can use white space in this.

When looking at colors please know that the current site and look is NOT what we are going for. We are going for a clean and professional look but also a look that is BOLD, FUN, and Vibrant (hence the colors).

Menu: Horizontal. We like bold and easy to read menu items. Don’t make it small and cluttered.

Site Structure: Clean and easy to navigate. We have a lot of content to display so we need a clean structure that breaks up the text and content areas.

Images: Please pull images from the current site. We can always replace the images of course, but if you show them “their own stuff” in the new design you will be closer to winning because it will feel more like “them”

Look and Feel: Professional company, trusted, and makes people feel comfortable once they are there. We need to also convey clean and crisp. That is what people are looking for from them.

Content Areas: It is a safe bet that if it is on the current site we need it on the new site. So don’t drop anything as it makes it hard to “cut content”.

What we don't want: We do not want clutter, boring, or templates or themes. We don’t want too cartoony, too cute, or too fancy… Be creative!

Out of respect to professional designers who really are working hard to win if you do not follow this brief, you submit worn out themes, templates, or boring designs you will be eliminated. We are offering great prize money for this so we expect great visual designs.
