Graphic Design Brief
GroLocal.com.au is committed to developing a triple bottom line approach to retail, where a single bottom line only exists today. 1) More sales for local manufacturers at better margins. 2) Empower consumers to maximise the social and economic impact of their household spending and have a direct impact on the creation of local jobs and greater economic benefit. 3) Raise much needed funds for local not-for-profit organisations and enable them to develop more programs and extend their reach within their communities.
To achieve this, the corporate identity will be of critical importance. The focus on the multiple benefits of the business model is essential to the design of the logo. But in saying that, it is too easy to show a symbol that could be confused with recycling. We are open to a word mark, but probably think a vector graphic and word-mark combined is the right direction. Open to seeing the domain extension to be used in the word mark. Do not think use of the map of Australia is the right direction, although unusual or very original treatment of the map could be considered. The concept of Grow, and Local, should be somehow encapsulated in any graphic design. This could extend to representing grow as a recognisable concept instantly related to growth. Same would be true for Local.
The successful designer will most likely get opportunities for additional design and layout requirements. This is the first step in establishing the business, so there is much growth to come from here on. We look forward to finding someone to work with.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We would like to offer more time so that we get the right number of submissions, and don't hurry the gifted creatives out there who may have wanted to submit but felt the timeline was too tight.
