Logo Design Brief

The College Connections Project (CCP) of the Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) is seeking a logo redesign.

In the Fall of 2011, the MEOC was awarded a five-year grant to operate a US Department of Education TRIO Educational Opportunity Center project. With funds from the grant, the MEOC launched the College Connections Project and began to provide services in Winter 2011-2012.

The CCP provides college information and counseling to NYC adults age 19 and over. We are distinguished by our college application fee waiver and CUNY Assessment Test preparation services. (The CUNY Assessment Test is the placement test for the City University of New York.)

We aim to secure a logo that can be used on all forms, flyers, our website (www.meoccollegeconnections.org), PowerPoint presentations, email signatures, brochures, postcards, and other print/electronic materials.

The logo must be scalable; must be in color but usable in black & white; and must be provided in a vector art format as well as a high-resolution format, preferably JPG.

We seek a logo that captures our energy as a bold effort breaking ground in the college access field. Because we’re based at the MEOC, we’d like a logo that employs any of the colors used in the MEOC logo: navy blue, yellow/gold, white. (You can find the logo on our website at www.meoccollegeconnections.org.)

The final design should capture the idea of connecting to college, but we're not sure how - that's where you come in. We want "College Connections Project" written out; we're so new that "CCP" alone will not make sense.

Thank you for contributing to the rollout of the College Connections Project.

AS A NEW PROJECT NEEDING TO SPEND DOWN OUR YEAR 1 GRANT FUNDS, WE DEFINITELY EXPECT TO PICK A DESIGN.

Updates

I am impressed with almost all of the designs posted sofar.  I like the one by fuxxo the most, and if nothing else came in, it would become the new CCP logo.  The latest one by Gaurav_goku would beperfect if we were serving a population that was more traditional in theircollege-going aspirations (i.e., campuses with trees).  My gut tells me that there’s still somethingbetter out there and so far I’m so glad to have crowd-sourced for adesign.
