Logo Design Brief

This logo is for a new website www.islandgold.com, it is a Header Logo that will be displayed on the top of every page of the website.

The website we are building is for an online retail jewellery store that is physically based on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island – BC, Canada. We are a small mom & pop retailer expanding to the internet.

Our marketing focus will be primarily to the online shoppers of Vancouver island we’re trying to draw them in to personally visiting us by showcasing on the web what we have to offer online. The remainder of Canada and international customers will be secondary and marketing via web tools available.

Our business primarily caters to the female crowd but the logo should be neutral as far as its feminine / masculine identity goes. We know it’s the younger generation that is most comfortable with online shopping so the target age group is the 18 – 45.

The logo should contain the website name “islandgold.com” or “www.islandgold.com”

Tag line: If any, open to suggestion (we’re often referred to as the “Wet Coast” a play on West Coast)

Elements to “possibly” (not mandatory) include:
- Diamond
- gemstones
- Small element representing “Canadian” ie maple leaf
- Coastal mountains
- Coastal beach
- other

We have uploaded the brick and mortar businesses sign, but by no means does this limit your freedom to create an amazing logo. Currently the business nor the website have a logo of any kind.

Website Header logo Specs: Maximum height on default theme: 65px X 444px

Colors choice: no restriction
# of colors: 2-6
Background color: white (able to float over most any color)

Logo Uses:
- Primary / Website header
- Secondary / Signage, stationary, advertisements, brand identity, packaging

Complexity: somewhat complex

The logo should not have a tropical island theme i.e. no palm trees or sandy beaches

Have the ability and availability to work on other similar themed graphics elements as required for this website.
