Web Design Brief

vinic.it is an e-commerce start-up focusing on the distribution of italian wines across Europe and needs your creativity to design its website!

About vinic.it
vinic.it will integrate the e-commerce functionalities within the websites of the most talented italian wineries in order to allow them to simply sell their products to everyone is interested in.
So, it will be possible to shop a bottle directly from the winery's website or from vinic.it that will showcase all the available wines coming from our partners.

vinic.it will use the drop-ship model: the order is processed on the website and shipped directly from the winery, in order to reduce the shipment and storage cost for the customer.

We would like to select as partners only the best quality wine makers across Italy in order to begin our activity mainly as a distribution services provider for wineries, but soon increase the awareness of the vinic.it brand, to become the most reliable website where finding the best wines to shop.

Requested deliverables
- Home page layout
- Sub-home page layout

After the decision of the winner, will be requested to translate the label in italian (we will provide them of course), because graphics will be used to present the idea to the partner wineries.

Home page
vinic.it will showcase from the day one thirty wineries. Each one should be correctly explained and presented to the customer in order to differentiate one to each others.

The main goal of the vinic.it home page will be to easily display and make simple finding out the proper winery through the thirty available, so the task it's not only graphics, but also design (this is the reason why we don't provide at the moment any wireframes). We want also a proposal on how to group and display contents.

We want to suggest users the "mono-winery navigation" instead of a cross-producer catalog, since the drop-shipping model won't allow us to easily manage those shipments.

Recap: thirty wineries with different stories on the same environment

Sub-home page
The sub-home page is the one the user will land on after the first click from the home page and is totally dedicated to a winery.

It should display as much contents as possible to explain the winery's story and all that winery's products as well.

It will also be the landing page for users coming directly from the winery's website (after clicking on the "shop online" button), and should be moving the customer to the checkout area.

Recap: give the idea of being inside the single winery world, making easy to buy products.

Main ideas
Our brand should (could) represent one of these main ideas (attached brand logo):

- vinic.it is DIRECT: our business model put in contact the final user directly to the small winery on top of a hill in Tuscany. We'd like to avoid any middle layer letting our customer free to decide which wine he would like to drink, so they directly select and purchase only what they really love.

- vinic.it is ITALIAN: we sell italian wines and we want to help italian wines become more famous across Europe, since today only a few of our wines are already recognizable, but there are many other valuable even if they "don't have a name".

- vinic.it is NATURAL: we'd like the idea of being directly connected to the producer and its lands

- vinic.it promotes QUALITY: we select only the bes quality producer and we definitely want to help them in promoting their excellences worldwide

- vinic.it is the pleasure of DISCOVER a great wine made by an unknown italian producer and being able to say "this is MY wine"
