Ummmmm? Very suspicious - looks like an inside job.
DC, please investigate.
This is a joke , is'nt it ?
You call this : A CONTEST ?
Just another thought here..... I don't know how many designers here have the same thing going on under their submissions tab, But for me I have 50+ contests on here that are still " deciding " most of 6months or longer, and " closed ( with no selected winner) ". Annoying, yes, but at the same time the designs we submit to these contests are downloadable for any one to take. You know right click on the image and select save. Many of these design I am sure have been " downloaded " by project holders then " fixed " ( if even fixed ) then put up on the internet as their own. From experience of having 4 designs stolen and I have found them online, 3 of which the company finally paid for the design ( months later ), one of which I am still battling to be paid for. My point is, is that look at all of your designs you submit not much of any have a watermark for the designer, this allows project holders to rip off designers easily. As for the guaranteed projects I have those that have never picked a winner either ( 3months and no selected winner ). I believe that these " freelance " sites need to do more to protect designers, give designers the same security offered to project holders. First off, make that designs submitted cannot be downloadable, with or without the designers watermark, and make every contest, project be prepaid ( full offered amount ), I mean they get a "money back guarantee" but the designers here that actualy pay fees on here and can get designs ripped off. No design, either logo, web, or any print projects should be prepaid before the project holders can even establish the project ( still with a money back guarantee ).. Sorry for the long vent......
Hi, all DC team, please consider this issue.
DC crowd will get the some Fee of each project when the project will close.
but some projects will refunded that time designer is big lose. because i will saw lots project in this more then each project 100-200 designs but client will not decided simply they say refunded, in this case suffering design not DC.
DC will got their each project posting fee and winning design commission. other refunded project worked designer nothing-------.O
@DesignCrowd: I beg you to DO something in order to prevent fake contests. As simple as the credibility of this site is in serious risk in the eyes of the ones who try to make your system work.
Dear DC Designers
I'm the Chief Operating Officer of DesignCrowd. I'm writing in response to the concerns you've expressed in relation to this contest.
First, I can confirm that this project is genuine. It's not unexpected that some contest holders might wish to run large budget projects that are refundable. The option exists to upgrade the contest to committed at any time, but the contest holder is within their rights not to do this. I respect that you may choose not to participate in projects where payment is not committed, just as I hope you will respect the choice of contest holders to run projects that are refundable.
I appreciate that lack of feedback on a project can be frustrating. I agree with you that more can be done to encourage contest holders to provide feedback, which is a valuable part of the design process. We are currently working on upgrading the look, feel and functionality of the system which contest holders use to manage their projects. The new manage project functionality will make it simpler and faster for contest holders to provide you with feedback.
Lastly, if you're concerned about delays to a project or perceive what you believe are suspicious behaviours, I encourage you to contact us directly, rather than posting to the comments boards of projects. Comments Boards are not regularly monitored for your questions or concerns, so the most timely and effective way of resolving any issues is to contact the support team on support@designcrowd.com.
I hope this helps to address some of your questions and concerns. If you'd like to discuss this further, you can reach me via our support email address.
Regards
Chris McNamara, COO.
ok, I hope that we will see soon on your website :)
Chris (DC), I am not questioning if the project is genuine - my concern is that the 'winner' has some connection to the project holder and a deal may have been done. For a company that claims to be as high-profile as the brief implies to choose a logo of such poor quality as this one out of over 2k entries is questionable. I urge you to invesigate a little deeper. Regards, Nigel
Hi Nigel
I appreciate your desire to ensure that the process is fair for participating designers.
I'm not aware of any improper relationships between the contest holder and any participants in the contest, including the winning designer. I shall update you should we discover any information to the contrary.
As always, should you have any concerns you can raise them via support@designcrowd.com.
Regards
Chris McNamara, COO.
