Banner Ad Design Brief
Hey Designers,
I am with Colling Media, we are the advertising agency for the Southwestern Eye Center (www.sweye.com). We are looking to revamp their slate of banner ads going forward into this spring.
I will start general and get more specific as we go on. SW Eye is a regional provider of Eye Care in Arizona and New Mexico. Their primary procedures in order of emphasis are Lasik, Cataracts, and Glaucoma. We have established cookie pools of individuals to remarket to based on each of these areas of their website and therefore need relevant ads to target them with.
The Ads can be static or animated gif or Flash, but they cannot be larger than 100kb, and if they are Flash they have to use one of the following templates:

The ad sizes we will need are
300x250 - (Branding, Lasik, Cataracts, Glaucoma)
160x600 - (Branding, Lasik, Cataracts, Glaucoma)
728x90 - (Branding, Lasik, Cataracts, Glaucoma)
300x600 - (Branding, Lasik, Cataracts, Glaucoma)
320x50 - (Mobile) - (Branding, Lasik, Cataracts, Glaucoma)
GENERAL BRANDING ADS
The general branding ads need to be geared towards a very open audience. We would like to incorporate imagery of eyes and/or doctors. Our team here really likes the use of ring flash photography, as well as close ups of eyes (non celebs). I have attached some examples of these to be used as guides for what I'm describing, as well as their logo & current ads.
The company in general is pretty conservative in their imagery, so steer clear of anything too "sexy" or risque. They are one of Arizona's largest resource for Eye Care MDs so that angle might be good too.
We usually want the ads to match the site, but nobody likes the site and the marketing director does not like the pic of the dude on the mountain, so feel free to use similar colors but try to make the ads look more clean/modern than the site does.
For any Call to Action buttons, we like "Learn More" and "Get More Info" a lot, but we are open to good alternatives.
LASIK ADS
The Lasik procedure is targeted towards an audience aged 21 - 40 range. Therefore the imagery must appeal to that audience, and we have found that they are usually into fashion sites and looking cool/sexy but everybody's LASIK's ads play this angle so we might want to go with a different angle, like doctors, but we are open to ideas. We've kicked around ideas like eye tests and important life moments going from blurry to clear, but feel free to make whatever you think people will click on.
Here is a Lasik Landing Page we've used for a long time http://www.sweye.com/contact/lasik-evaluation.php
If you have a good idea for an ad, we will build a page for it so don't worry about not matching site content. We want to make an online eye test and other evaluation forms for cataracts, glacoma, etc. so feel free to get creative.
CATARACTS & GLAUCOMA ADS:
The Cataracts & Glaucoma patients are all older individuals who are losing their vision. We therefore want to target them with ads that speak to not wanting to miss out on their child's wedding, or their grand kid's t-ball game, etc. I have attached labeled examples of this, along with images showing what kind of effect these ailments have on peoples vision.
In the end, we want some high end creative solutions, and would love for you guys to work your creative magic.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Thanks all!
