Logo Design Brief
The Community Health Aide (CHA) Program was developed in the 1950s in response to a number of health concerns including the tuberculosis epidemic, high infant mortality, and high rate of injuries in rural Alaska. In 1968, the CHA Program received formal recognition and congressional funding. The long history of cooperation and coordination between the federal and state governments and the Native tribal health organizations has facilitated improved health status in rural Alaska.
The CHA Program now consists of a network of approximately 550 Community Health Aides/Practitioners (CHA/Ps) in over 170 rural Alaska villages. CHA/Ps work within the guidelines of the 2006 Alaska Community Health Aide/Practitioner Manual (CHAM), which outlines assessment and treatment protocols. This project will serve to create an electronic version of the CHAM, which will be known as the eCHAM.
The eCHAM will be a web-based and mobile solution, providing the content of the CHAM in an electronic format, taking full advantage of the interactive capabilities of the electronic format including:
• Intuitive navigational system and user friendly presentation.
• Multimedia materials integration including the integration of photos, audio clips, ECG etc.
• Discovery for integration with RPMS EHR and AFHCAN software.
• Open architecture providing the potential to interface with EHR systems.
• Development of a mechanism for secure and regular update of content.
We are looking for a logo design for the eCHAM PRODUCTS (and not the project) - the website and mobile applications that will be used by the CHA/Ps instead of hard copy books to deliver healthcare in rural Alaska. The project is very uniquely Alaskan - the CHA/Ps do not at this time exist anywhere else in the country, and generally provide care in Alaska Native health care corporations. We'd like the logo to embody some concept to do with wellness, Native Alaskan culture (but perhaps not specific to one region, if possible), Alaska, health, technology or other (please stretch our imagination).
Updates
Thank you everyone!! We received many beautiful designs. I am sorry to not have given more feedback, but we will be sending out all the designs to the project steering committee for a vote today. I'll have results by Tuesday!!
Thanks
