Logo Design Brief

-UPDATE 2-
The logo should be 'light' enough to be used in graphical elements on the webpage, as background on reports, etc.: see www.constellis.com as an example and how elements of the logo appear throughout on the webpage.
Thanks!

-UPDATE-
Hi folks, quick update: Since the network approach is reflected in many areas of my new company I am also very inclined to the word ‘Alliance’, i.e. making it "grid alliance" instead of "grid risk". I understand that this might be a separate project but if you feel inspired by the word please go ahead and use it. Thanks!

ATTACHED is an example of a simplistic logo design (unrelated product/company) which we like a lot because of it's simplicity and sophistication.

Selected Colors are just a preference, NOT a must have.

Thanks!

I need a logo design for a company that deals with crisis and risk in very complex and opaque (security) environments - think Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, but also more benign but volatile places like Lebanon, Egypt, Bahrain.

The actual concepts but in a nutshell is going to leverage local human networks and provide the type of intelligence that no one has but everyone needs during crisis situations: accurate, reliable, and standardised, ‘actionable’, information in real-time, specific to a client’s location. No analysis, just raw intel. We work with models of complex adaptive systems, and what we can learn from them as organisations and work on the (theoretical) idea that ‘security’ problems often require organic solutions, like treating a living system that has its own metabolisms etc.

The company is based in Dubai for proximity and fast access to crisis countries in the regions. The aim is to allow companies to send staff / do business in high and extreme risk environments by providing "boots and suits" solutions, i.e. a combination of hands-on, on the ground crisis support as well as more sophisticated, board-room consulting.

Hi all,

thanks so far for the great contributions. I have sent feedback to all designers whose concepts i'd like to continue to develop, if you haven't heard back from me this probably means that your design just didn't work for us or there were key elements missing (e.g. the implementation of a 'grid' or 'network' like structure in the logo).

I have uploaded a couple more design examples on the brief of elements that we like to give you some ideas. Until now, the most successful design submissions for this project have been the "simple, yet sophisticated" ones, that are 'sleek' and 'timeless'.

Thanks!
A

Requirements
Must have
  • Keywords for us are complexity, networks, criticality, intelligence, assistance, strategy, hence, we aim for simplicity and clarity in our logo.
The design should communicate clarity. complexity. accuracy. commitment. (tricky, i know...).
The word 'grid' was chosen because it transports elements of networks and complexity all while being short and simple and should be reflected in the logo.
Colors of choice are tones of grey and highlights in powerful blue but we are open to any color scheme that fits.
