KAJO Australia – Brand Identity & Brand Guidelines Designk
Graphic Design Brief
We are KAJO Australia, the Australian distributor of KAJO GmbH, a German manufacturer of high-performance greases, industrial lubricants and specialist lubrication products.
We are looking for a creative and experienced graphic designer to develop a modern, professional and distinctive visual brand identity for KAJO Australia.
We have already completed our brand foundations, positioning, messaging and a detailed creative brief, which will be provided to the designer.
This is not a complete rebranding project. Our existing trademarked KAJO logo must remain unchanged, but we want to develop a more modern and recognisable visual identity around it.
We want KAJO Australia to have its own unique look and feel while maintaining a clear connection to our German manufacturing headquarters.
The brand should communicate German engineering, quality, high performance, technical expertise and reliability.
We have three main product categories:
- High-performance greases and lubricants (blue)
- Biodegradable lubricants (green)
- Food-grade lubricants (orange)
We want a consistent visual system that clearly distinguishes these product categories while keeping them recognisable as KAJO products.
The initial project is to develop:
- Professional visual brand guidelines
- Colour palettes and usage rules
- Typography and font hierarchy
- Supporting logo variations and usage guidelines
- Modern graphic elements, patterns and supporting visuals
- Industry, equipment and application icons
- Visual examples for print and digital marketing
- Basic editable Canva templates
The designer should use our existing brand assets and strategy documents as the starting point while bringing fresh creative ideas to improve the overall look.
Our initial priority is establishing the brand identity and guidelines. Website redesign, full catalogues and additional marketing materials may follow as separate projects.
We will provide our existing logos, product images, brand strategy, detailed creative brief and design references.

Requirements
Must have
- Keep our existing trademarked blue-and-white KAJO logo. Maintain a recognisable connection to KAJO Germany while creating a distinctive Australian identity. Clearly distinguish our blue (high-performance), green (biodegradable) and orange (food-grade) ranges. Strong Made in Germany positioning. Develop professional brand guidelines covering logo usage, colour codes, typography, icons, patterns and graphic style. Provide print/digital examples, editable Canva templates, and master vector/source files.
Nice to have
- Creative use of German manufacturing references or a subtle German flag. Modern industrial icons for our different industries and applications. New ideas for our existing KAJO swirl graphics. Product recognition graphics showing different grease colours. Visual concepts for our 500g screw-cap grease cartridges and grease gun adapters. Examples of brochures, social posts, stockist signage, trade show displays and website graphics.
Should not have
- Do not redesign or alter our trademarked KAJO logo. Avoid simply copying the existing KAJO Germany website or visual style. No generic automotive branding, cartoon-style graphics, cluttered layouts, excessive colours or cheap discount-style advertising. Avoid designs that look too corporate, outdated or complicated. Do not lose the connection to our German manufacturing heritage.
