Logo Design for AMI Forest School – Modern, Youthful Nature-Based Education Brand
Logo Design Brief
AMI Forest School is a new K–4 nature-based elementary school launching in Southwest Michigan. The school is part of Advent Mission Institute (AMI), and we are seeking a distinctive logo that builds upon our existing AMI brand identity while giving the Forest School a youthful, vibrant, nature-inspired personality of its own.
The new logo should incorporate or build from the existing AMI logo mark, similar to how our AMI Health logo extends the parent brand. We are looking for a clean, modern, typography-driven design rather than a traditional illustrated school or outdoor logo. We are especially interested in creative custom lettering, subtle nature-inspired modifications to letterforms, and simple graphic shaping—for example, a letter terminal that naturally becomes a leaf.
The result should feel energetic, welcoming, youthful, and connected to nature, while remaining professional and clearly part of the larger AMI brand family.
Target Market(s)
The primary target market is families with children in grades K–4 who are seeking a high-quality, nature-based alternative to traditional classroom education. The school will appeal to parents who value hands-on learning, time outdoors, small class sizes, strong academics, character development, and a whole-child approach to education. The brand should primarily appeal to parents making educational decisions, while also feeling energetic, welcoming, and engaging to young children. The school is Christian in mission and values, but the visual identity should feel fresh, modern, and broadly welcoming rather than traditional, institutional, or overtly religious.
