Tattoo Design Brief

I have an existing tribal tattoo on my right deltoid that I would like to incorporate into a new Nordic/Viking-style sleeve tattoo. I’m considering having the sleeve end either just past the elbow or extend down to the wrist. I would also like the design to reach up over the shoulder toward the neck, chest, and back.
I want to incorporate traditional knotwork, symbols associated with Valhalla and Odin (such as the Valknut), axes, a Nordic/Viking compass, and one or more Nordic warrior braided bands around the elbow area. I would like the tattoo to remain in a traditional black-and-grey Nordic style.
The tribal tattoo originally represented, to me, the darker side of man spreading over my shoulder. As a Marine combat veteran (Infantry), I would like to evolve that meaning into more of a Viking warrior theme.
