Book Cover Design Brief

> • Overview / Background of your business and services
I’m about to publish my second book with a publisher in Melbourne and they’ve come up with a design for the cover that I’m not happy with so I’m going out on my own! The elements that I wanted in it were the photo of my partner in front of Parliament House, the title and a couple of cover notes. Somehow the version that the publishers have come up with seems a little clunky. Hoping for something that still catches the eye on the bookstands but also has a bot more sophistication about it.
Ive included all these original elements as well as the publisher’s mock up below.


> • Target Market / Audience you are aiming to reach

The book is filled with political humour and satire so we’re aiming it at people who like politics and satire. My partner who is in the photo was a politician for 10 years and developed quite a following. She was the first sex worker to ever be elected to a parliament anywhere in the world. Together we formed the Australian Sex Party - hence the spoof title.

> • Design Specifics – any preferences for style, color, imagery, or other details
I’d like to see the photo and the title and the cover notes used in a couple of designs but also happy to look at other ideas with a couple. .
