Illustration Design Brief

Illustration showing three girls riding on the backs of concrete animals who have magically come to life, to be printed on a t-shirt.

Background: The band is Shonen Knife, a fun all-female Japanese punk/rock band that has been playing for 40+ years. They describe themselves as cute but dangerous. They have a song called Concrete Animals, and this illustration is a homage to the song.

Requirements:

Overall desired vibe is kawaii: cute, fun loving, uplifting, vibrant, joyful.

The illustration should depict a scene with three women, each riding on the back of a different concrete animal. According to the song lyrics, they are having a secret party.

The animals in the scene should be three of the following: Elephant, Raccoon, Tiger, Rabbit, Zebra. The animals were previously made of concrete for children to play with in the park, but have magically come to life. Color-wise, they should at least be partially vandalized and painted many colors (per the song), with the amount depending on what looks aesthetically pleasing.

The women should read as the members of the band as seen in the attached photo (primarily by hair style), but should not match exactly (one of the band members has changed since the photo was taken). They should wear Mondrian-inspired dresses as seen in the photo. Depending on the composition, they may even be abstracted as gestures. Each woman should look joyful and dynamic.

The image will be printed onto a t-shirt. The background in the image file should be transparent. The t-shirt is intended to be black, though I am open to other colors if the design requires it.
