Logo Design Brief

Ruff Draft is a unique, modern business that combines an indoor dog park, a taproom serving craft beverages, and professional dog daycare and grooming services—all under one roof. We’re building a space for dogs and their humans to connect, unwind, and socialize in a distinctly Pacific Northwest environment.

The new logo will serve as a cornerstone of our brand identity, appearing across signage, merchandise, digital platforms, and print collateral. It must capture the spirit of Ruff Draft—playful, polished, community-oriented—and appeal to both dog lovers and craft beverage enthusiasts.

Objectives
• Create a distinctive and memorable logo that reflects Ruff Draft’s dual nature: dog-friendly + craft taproom.
• Establish a visual identity that is versatile across digital and physical applications.
• Position Ruff Draft as a modern, community-focused brand with a Northwest vibe.
• Instantly communicate that the business is both dog-forward and social in nature.


Target Audience
• Dog owners aged 25–50
• Socially active, urban/suburban professionals in the Pacific Northwest (Woodinville, WA, USA and surrounding cities)
• Craft beer and cider enthusiasts
• Individuals with disposable income who prioritize pet wellness and lifestyle experiences


Brand Personality
• Friendly but edgy
• Modern with a rustic touch

• Clever and playful (without being cartoonish or childish)

Aesthetic Preferences
The following are all optional elements to include, but I wanted to set some parameters around my expectations. None of the following are required, in fact, I welcome a “less is more” approach:
-If you choose to include a "dog" element, it should appear as a German Shepherd Dog
-If you include a "beer" element, it should be a standard pint glass with no handle
-If you want to include our services (optional) you can include: Taproom, Indoor Dog Park, Dog Grooming
-I do not want anything that has a "cartoon" look to it.
-Color Palette: Should pair well with interior design featuring wood, concrete, steel, and charcoal grey walls
