Logo Design Brief
Kickass Safety Logo + Mascot Design
Project Description:
Kickass Safety is an e-learning company that teaches flight safety and operational risk with boldness, humor, and real-world grit. We’re looking for a masculine, confident, and humorous logo and mascot combination that captures our identity and stands out.
What We Need:
• A logo that is bold, strong, and memorable
• A mascot that can be used alongside the logo and on its own
• The logo will be used on merchandise, website, and inside our e-learning modules
• Must be scalable, print-ready, and versatile in color and black & white
Mascot Direction:
We want a kickass zebra—not just any zebra, but one that brings energy and swagger. Our founder, a former combat helicopter pilot, carried a stuffed zebra as a lucky charm in every mission. We want to honor that with a zebra character that’s full of attitude. It can be stylized, wearing aviator gear, mid-kick, or standing proud—just give it that alpha energy. Think of it as the ass-kicking mascot for elite safety training.
Logo Style Preferences:
Designers are encouraged to use their personal style—we’re open to:
• Modern
• Retro poster-style
• Bold comic-inspired
• Playful or illustrative
• Clean and contemporary
We’ll recognize the right one when we see it. Confidence is key.
Tone of the Brand:
• Masculine
• Confident
• Humorous
• Battle-tested
• High-performing
File Requirements:
• Full-color and black-and-white versions
• Source files (AI, EPS, PSD)
• Transparent PNGs
• Vector format for scaling
• Fonts used (or outlined)

Let’s make safety as kickass as it should be.
*** I’d like to clarify my request to avoid any further confusion.
I’m seeking a logo design—specifically, one from your offerings that includes both an icon and a name. When I used the term 'mascot,' I was referring to the icon portion of the logo, which I’d like to feature an animal. I’m not looking for anything beyond this single logo design at the moment; my use of 'mascot' was simply a semantic choice, not a request for additional services.
Having had a positive experience with DesignCrowd in the past, I was surprised by the assumption that I might be angling for extra work without a clarifying question first. To me, 'mascot design' just means incorporating an animal into the logo’s icon
Target Market(s)
Our primary audience includes pilots (fixed wing, rotor wing, and UAS), safety officers, and aviation company owners who are responsible for operational excellence and regulatory compliance. These individuals are professionals who value high-impact safety training, crave straightforward, no-fluff content, and respect tools that work under pressure. Whether they’re flying, managing crews, or running the whole operation, they need training that’s as serious and capable as they are.

Requirements
Must have
- Must-Haves for the Logo Design: • Includes a mascot zebra with bold, kickass personality (aviator flair or action pose encouraged) • Logo and mascot should work together and independently • Masculine, confident, and humorous tone • Design must be recognizable at a glance • Suitable for print, digital, and merchandise • Delivers in full-color and monochrome • Vector format with scalable resolution (AI, EPS, SVG)
Nice to have
- • Emblem or badge-style layout that looks great on hats, patches, or challenge coins • A subtle nod to aviation (helmet, goggles, wings, etc.) without overpowering the zebra • Strong silhouette for instant recognition at small sizes • A visual that works well in horizontal and stacked formats • Design elements that could evolve into module icons or sub-brand graphics • A clever detail or hidden visual joke that rewards a closer look • Typography that complements the energy of the mascot—bold, rugged, or mission-ready
Should not have
- • Anything cartoonish or childish—this is bold humor, not kids’ content • Overly complex details that won’t scale well or print cleanly on gear • Generic animals or stock icons—our zebra should be original and full of attitude • Soft colors or pastel palettes—we want strength, not subtlety • Text-heavy designs—keep the words minimal and let the art do the talking • Corporate or sterile looks—this isn’t another boring training company • Obvious clichés like traffic cones, hard hats, or clipboards unless reimagined in a fresh, badass way
