Logo Design Brief

Our local high school is dealing a logo renew. I would like a new logo using this cat and the words.
. I would to be modern looking yet still respect the vintage look of the cat so it's a little tricky. I need this logo to look good in color and in single color. The colors do not have to be many. It could be one two, three or four but it must look good single color as well.
