Logo Design Brief

We have had the same logo for 16 years and it is outdated and stale (logo attached). We are in search of a new image for us. Our main company color is purple (we are not a big fan of bright colors, but are open). We’d like the logo to resemble what we do and have a look and feel of the technology industry that we are in. Our website is www.newavetv.com so you can see our current 'look' and if you want include the website in the logo?? Many people associate a ‘film strip’ with our look, and we are ok continuing that or abandoning it. We are looking for an edgy, contemporary logo. Please keep in mind that this logo must be legible when shrunk or embroidered on shirts, etc.
