Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for my Advisory & Coaching services. What I need is an update of a logo my father used 50 years ago. Attached is the original logo. It uses a letter “Y” and a letter “G”. I like the way they are used (like overlapped) in the old logo and what I want is to modernize it with the same overlapping but make it look modern… and instead of using a red color, I would like to use a blue or a green. The blue could be in the type of PANTONE BLUE 072 C or in a GREEN PANTONE 17-5641 but does not need to be exactly that color, I am open to suggestions.
