Logo Design Brief

Hey, We are a small business based in the UK. We are a simple Amazon business, selling water bottles on Amazon in the UK marketplace only. We started the business around 6 years ago, with a plan to create a brand that sits across the sports and outdoors category and sells products within this theme. Our company name is Nuactiv.

Currently the only product we sell are water bottles, however we do expect to grow with additional products in this category in the future (over the next 1-3 years). Our next step for our business is to expand our sells on Amazon to the EU market place, and expect to do this from the beginning of 2025.

Our business goal and current message with selling our water bottle is to encourage people to stop using single use plastic bottles. And this message is something we want to carry across into any future products we may look to sell. It needs to fulfil the message that 'switching to this product helps reduce waste in the world'.

Whilst this is our business direction and aspiration, we didn't want a company logo that solely looked like it was only about "Eco" products or "saving the world" - we wanted to remember that we also want this to be a brand that sells good quality sports and outdoor products, and therefore we wanted a logo that spoke to that as well.

As I mentioned, we have been selling now for around 6 years, and so we do already have a business logo for our brand, Nuactiv. The logo contains both our Name in a simple and clean font that I designed, along with a logo mark, which was designed by someone on the platform Fiverr.

Given we are due to expand our business into the EU, it requires us to make some changes to things like packaging etc, and therefore we have an opportunity to refresh our brand to ensure we ship our products with a possible new look, and this includes launching with potential new advertising campaigns.

I'm looking for a refresh of our current company logo, and below are some considerations that need to be followed when redesigning:
- Ideally we’d like to be in keeping with the current logo design in some way. However I don’t want this to block your creative process/ideas.
- I like the fact that there can be a standalone logo mark, as well as a word logo. And that they can also sit together to make one logo.
- The logo does not need to be limited to just a plain solid colour, however, it needs to work as a solid colour as when it gets laser engraved on products, this is how it will appear.
- the logo and logo name must not be too slim in its design, this is due to the fact that it will be laser engraved onto products and so needs to have enough weight to it for it to engrave properly.
- We want the logo to link to what we sell but not be limited to it. So in case we branch out in the future, it can still work for other products in other categories.
- I have seen examples where the logo is then used to create background patterns for either advertising artwork or on websites etc. I like this idea and it would be great if this could be considered.
- We will want to be able to use the branding to create sponsored adverts across different social platforms so it would need to be suitable to place on artworks to work on desktop and mobile platforms.
- The logo and or company name should have a modern/fresh feel that stands out from other brands. We want it to look bold, strong and portray a positive feel. It needs to look professional and be easy to see and understand.
